  • Overview

    The Recruiter and Coordinator supports OMCA’s internship program. The position executes the internship recruitment process, onboards interns and helps to ensure requirements of the program are completed. This position drives a full recruitment cycle by creating robust pipelines through active sourcing of multiple channels, attending career fairs, screening resumes, interviewing and closing candidates, all while working with hiring managers to improve processes. The position will also help to plan the internship learning, social and evaluation activities and document outcomes of the program. The part-time schedule is anticipated for up to 25 hours per week.

    POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Employment Lifecycle

    • Implements full cycle recruiting process for multiple internship positions across the organization
    • Aggressively builds a diverse pipeline of top talent by sourcing across multiple and creative channels
    • Represents OMCA at a variety of career fairs and information sessions
    • Interviews and qualifies potential candidates ensuring alignment with OMCA’s requirements for skills, culture and understanding of Mission and values
    • Adds value to the candidate experience by going beyond the job description during candidate communication providing deeper insight into how the position fits within the candidate’s respective skill set as well as OMCA as a whole
    • Ensures a great candidate experience by keeping candidates continually informed with quality communications throughout the hiring process
    • Builds strong relationships and collaborates with OMCA’s internship managers to understand their unique hiring needs and goals, and evaluates candidates with focus
    • Initiates and manages background check process for candidates
    • Tracks all recruitment data and ensure files are compliant with policies and procedures
    • Participates in the onboarding and training development of interns

     

    Program Facilitation

    • Coordinates training programs and social activities for interns
    • Gathers evaluation documentation and metrics needed for analysis of program

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE

    A combination of experience and education that demonstrates possession of the necessary knowledge and abilities for this position is required as noted:

    • Ability to display and encourage visitor and internal customer service, take and share responsibility and treat others with respect
    • 2-5 years Human Resource coordination or recruitment experience required
    • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint required, and applicant tracking software, required
    • Basic knowledge of federal and state employment laws
    • Ability to interface and work well with all levels of management and staff, while maintaining confidentiality and using sound judgment, required
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks with varying priorities and pay attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    • Flexibility and excellent organizational skills
    • An ambitious self-starter with exceptional communication skills 

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to the following:

    • Noise, such as groups of people working in enclosed areas
    • Ability to travel to off site job fairs and recruitment events
