POSITION SUMMARY

The Event Services Lead is an "on-call" position responsible for producing facility rental events. The Lead works with Museum staff, the Event Services team (AV, Production, Logistics, Administration), facilities, operations, security, caterers, and outside vendors.  The position creates high visibility and good will within the community.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

INSTITUTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Museum’s mission, values, vision, and core commitment to the visitor experience, community engagement, and institutional relevancy for the future
  • Contribute to and support the OMCA strategic plan, annual priorities, and institutional initiatives such as diversity advancement

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the logistics of assigned external events
  • Serve as point person for client on the day of event
  • Provide direction to the Event Services production and audio-visual teams
  • Work closely with facilities and operations staff, caterers, security, and outside vendors to ensure smooth set up and presentation of event
  • Complete post-event reports, evaluations, and recommendations as requested by Event and Production Supervisor

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A combination of experience and education that demonstrates possession of the necessary knowledge and abilities for this position is required as noted:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of related experience required 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and experience in event production, audio visual systems and procedures, food and beverage, staging, customer service, and vendor relationships
  • MS Office (Word, Excel) 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to the following:

  • Noise, such as groups of people working in enclosed areas
  • Typical office environment
  • Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Outdoor weather conditions
  • Moderate to loud noise
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
